Abstract

Now-a-days more attention is paid to sources of fluoride exposure. Pesticides containing fluoride in their molecules also contribute to the environmental contamination by fluorides. One of them is tolylfluanid. Tolylfluanid belongs to the class of phenylsulfamide fungicides. It is used to control a wide range of fungicidal diseases in several fruits, vegetables and hops. Its main effects in experimental animals during short-term exposure are functional disturbance of the thyroid gland, increased liver weight, decreased liver enzyme levels and slight histopathological changes in the kidneys. Long-term exposure leads to accumulation of increased level of fluoride in the organism
